For several weeks in August we’ll be biking and paddling our way along ~300 miles of pristine Alaskan coastline. Departing from Yakutat on August 9th we’ll hopefully roll/paddle into Cordova about 2-3 weeks later.
The Route
The route includes several bay crossings, countless river and creek crossings and miles of various beach terrain. For a more detailed map of the route see this Google Map.
We’re going to try to provide semi-frequent updates throughout our trip using a DeLorme PN-60W GPS with Spot Communicator. In addition to viewing our location on a map, you’ll also be able to receive updates through our Twitter account and on this site.
If you already use Twitter, the best way to stay informed is to follow our @LostCoastBikers Twitter profile. If you don’t use Twitter, our tweets will be displayed on this site with a delay of several minutes. A digest of each day’s tweets will also be posted each night. Please be aware that our Twitter account is one-way, we can only post tweets and will not be able to receive or check any @reply tweets (but that doesn’t mean we won’t have fun reading them when we return!).
